About Our Website

Welcome to our McGehee-Aiken Family Website.   This site is focused around the Descendants and Ancestors of James Hiram McGehee (1847-1932) and Josephine Carolyn Aiken (1852-1941). There are interesting and valuable information on other ancestors and family branches as well. Information dating back to the 1600’s.

  • William ‘Will’ (1872-1963)
  • Frank Odelle (1876-1878)
  • Margaret Lusheous ‘Maggie’ (1878-1966)
  • Mary Ethel ‘Mayme’ (1881-1965)
  • James Hiram ‘Ti’ (Jr.) (1888-1944)
  • Myrtle Josephine (1892-1973)

This site has a growing amount of information. Much has yet to be uploaded. We hope that family members will send in copies of photos, especially older treasured ones.  Additionally, we hope to add audio recordings, books, various newsletters, newspaper articles, and other family history.

If you have an old family bible, please consider taking good photographs of key pages: The title page often has a date it was printed. There is usually a list of Family members and these pages are so very important to help verify family records. A photo of the Bible cover and spine is important to include.

While James Hiram and Josephine Carolyn (Aiken) McGehee family as a whole are a central focus of the website, other family branches are also important. We hope to add more and more over time.

All suggestions and comments are welcome, just use the “Contact” webpage.
