Help with Family History: Donate

What a fantastic and rich family history we have. Lots of family members have donated time, photos, recordings, documents, and stories in order to share with others in the family.  These have all helped in the work of recording and charting our history and family roots.

Many have asked how one can help, here are some ways:

  • Share your stories and your parents stories
  • Send copies of photos, recent and past, of family members and events
  • Share your family history details (see Family Member History input form)
  • Call or email Ron to discuss family history  (see Contact Page)
  • Donate to help share the costs and to recognize the expense of the work

FAMILY NAMES

If you go back to the mid-1800’s, we focus on the McGehee and Aiken families, specifically James Hiram McGehee married Josephine Carolyn Aiken.  Their children and grandchildren married into yet other families:  Stark, Burns, Nichols, Hamilton, Kennedy, Gautier, Yates, Snow, Simms, Croxen, Rickman, Hardin, Bell, Stevanus, Hopper. The next generations have added many other surnames to our family tree.

There was a bit of England, Scotland, Ireland, and Germany in the family at this point in the mid-1800s and most came from families that came to America in the late 1600’s. Chances are you might not have the surname of McGehee, or Aiken, but your ancestors did!   This site has booksreferences, history, storiesgenealogyobituariesphoto archive, and other interesting family history information.
